Why would we expect anything but difficulty from this life? Broken people in a broken creation results in a broken earthly life. I think that at some point in every person's life, he or she comes to the realization that life sucks.
I think that once we realize that life is hard, we can begin to move forward in real, blind faith.
No longer can we expect happiness, peace, comfort, security, fulfillment from this life. No longer can we be disappointed when we lose these or never get them.
We trudge on - ever sorrowful - through the bumps and bruises and occasional smiles of life. We begin - ever so slowly - to look ahead to a time that won't be hard. That's when perspective takes its crucial seat in the depths of our being.
Finally. We can alternately navigate our life-boats through the tumultuous rapids and float along the calm surface of this perpetual, brief life on earth.
Moving on now.
