New Day

Besides today being the first day to wear jeans since the blasting hot summer began...

It's the first day of after-school tutoring! I can't wait to see my friends and the faithful tutors. It's going to be a good day. I'm so going to make them journal outside...and can't wait to see what complaint they have against the weather today. Too sunny? Too perfect? Psh. Shut it.

And also begins a new season of teaching Bible lessons. I decided at the close of summer tutoring to teach about the greatness of God. Psalm 145.4 says:
"One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts."

I want my kids (and myself) to know God, fear God, love God, and obey God. Seeing the greatness of the one and only God will point us in that direction.

So, today I end with 1 Chronicles 29.11-13:
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.
