Mary and Zechariah overflowed with songs of praise for the tiny baby that was growing inside a young virgin. Simeon and Anna had waited their whole lives for this baby and could finally die in peace because He had come. The whole nation of Israel had been promised this baby for its whole existence. He was to be their peace on earth. All of creation groaned in childbirth as the Creator became a part of His creation in order to make it "good" again. The little infant was worshiped by a handful of family, animals, kings, and shepherds. In the end, He will return and be worshiped by ALL.
Worship Him now in humility and know peace and joy forevermore. Wait, and you will worship him...humiliated and condemned.
May we look to the Light of the world who came into the darkness to expose the truth of our depravity and offer the light of life. And may we robe ourselves in His light to expose the darkness around us and offer the hope of true Light to the world.
